ChaplaincyPlus is seeking to appoint a committed and passionate individual with appropriate skills and experience to join our Team as volunteer Bookkeeper.

ChaplaincyPlus offers Christian pastoral support and equipping opportunities to explore issues of work, faith and life. Our work makes a real difference, but we couldn’t do it without the support of volunteers. 

The Role 
We’re looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper to help us keep our finances in good order. You will play a vital role in ensuring our accounts are accurate and up to date, enabling us to make the most of every pound we raise. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Record income and expenditure 
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using Xero  
  • Carry out regular bank reconciliations 
  • Submit regular Gift Aid claims to HMRC 
  • Support the preparation of simple financial reports for the trustees 
  • Help ensure we meet basic charity finance requirements 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience with bookkeeping or accounting (professional or voluntary) 
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and confidentially 
  • An interest in supporting the charity sector and our mission

Hours: Flexible, approx. 2-3 hours per month
