Events Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable part-time Voluntary Events Assistant to support our team in organising and executing a range of events, including our three annual network-wide events: Spring Gathering, Annual Celebration and Carols for the Business Community. As a Voluntary Events Assistant, you will assist with the logistical, promotional, and administrative aspects of event planning and delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event Planning Support: Assist in planning, organising, and coordinating events, from initial concept through to execution.
  • On-Site Event Assistance: Help with event setup and breakdown, managing attendee registration, assisting guest contributors, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with preparing event materials, coordinating schedules, handling correspondence, and updating event databases or systems.
  • Communication & Marketing Support: Help create promotional materials, assist with social media posts, and liaise with partners and participants.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Provide support in managing volunteers, ensuring everyone is clear on their roles and responsibilities during events.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Collect feedback from attendees and volunteers, help with post-event reports, and suggest improvements for future events.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, depending on event schedule.
  • Prior event planning experience not required.
