The seventh Birmingham Payer Breakfast, jointly hosted by ChaplaincyPlus and Birmingham Cathedral, was held in the Banqueting Suite of the Council House on Friday 22 June and was attended by around 120 members of Birmingham’s professional, business and faith communities.
The speaker was Malcolm Duncan who spoke on Faith in a Flourishing City. Malcolm emphasised that for any city to flourish we need The Commercial Sector; The Arts, Culture and Media Sectors; The Public Sector and The Faiths Sector with all of these communities playing their part. Chris Dinsdale opened the proceedings with a prayer for the city based on a prayer card that all attendees were given to take away. Catherine Ogle, Dean of Birmingham hosted the morning and David Urquhart, Bishop of Birmingham, closed the breakfast by praying for the issues raised by the speaker.
