Who am I? Am I just my brain? Science and Faith
15 June @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 6:00 pm, repeating indefinitely
This exciting new project ‘Science and Faith in the Second City’ will include a series of Christian apologetics talks for Birmingham in early 2022.
The project is designed to equip the church in its evangelism and discipleship by showing how science and the Christian faith work well together.
Join us as we have Dr Sharon Dirckx from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics coming to speak on ‘Who am I? Am I just my brain?’
Dr. Sharon Dirckx is a senior tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. Originally from a scientific background, she has a PhD in brain imaging from the University of Cambridge and has held research positions at the University of Oxford, UK, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, US.
Her topics of interest focus on science, theology, “mind and soul,” and the problem of evil. Her first book was Why?: Looking at God, Evil and Personal Suffering. More recently she has published Am I just my brain ? which examines questions of human identity from the perspectives of neuroscience, philosophy, and theology.
More details will follow shortly.
