Do scientists have the right to change our genes? Science and Faith

21 December, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This exciting new project ‘Science and Faith in the Second City’ will include a series of Christian apologetics talks for Birmingham in early 2022.

The project is designed to equip the church in its evangelism and discipleship by showing how science and the Christian faith work well together.

Join us as we have Professor Keith Fox from the University of Southampton coming to speak on ‘Do scientists have the right to change our genes?’

Keith Fox is Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Southampton where he has previously been Head of the Centre for Biological Sciences. His research interests concern DNA structure and its recognition and he is Senior Executive Editor of Nucleic Acids Research. He is a former director of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion and former chairman and trustee of Christians in Science. He is also a licensed lay minister in the Church of England.  He is co-author of ‘Modifying our genes: theology, science and playing God’, SCM Press, 2021.

More details will follow shortly.
