City Women had a very enjoyable and encouraging lunch meeting today. Catherine Ogle spoke about her calling to becoming a priest and career path from textile designer to Dean of Birmingham where she is now. Catherine emphasised that we all have a calling to our life’s work and that we all encounter hurdles that can get in the way. These hurdles can include practical issues such as child care but also personal aspects such as self doubt, whether we feel accepted in our chosen career and facing up to organisational and cultural challenges. She reminded us that Jesus was and is the ultimate affirmer of us all, both men and women.
