TRUTH-ON-TRIAL Can Justice Survive In A Post-Truth World
Date and Time
Wed 10 Oct
- October 10, 2018
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Truth is a cornerstone of our legal system, and yet for decades
the conventional understanding of truth has been under attack
in universities and the popular approach to the concept of truth
has undergone a change reflected in “post-truth” becoming
Oxford Dictionaries’ word of the year in 2016.
The role of truth in the legal system was closely linked to
the role of Christianity.
- What might a “post-truth” legal system look like?
- How has the role of Christianity changed?
- Can truth stand alone without it?
During this interactive seminar, Ian Miller will explore these questions.
Ian practiced law as a barrister for 18 years at 1 Chancery Lane.
He is currently studying at Oakhill Theological College.
There will be a light buffet and refreshments served from 6pm. When booking in please tell us if you have any dietary requirements.
This event is organised by ChaplaincyPlus in partnership with the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship
